When is registration?

Fall registration is held on 2 separate days. You may register August 1th, 29th between the hours of 3PM and 7PM. However, we welcome new students September through February if class space is available. Registration for summer classes begins in May.

When does the dance year start?

The dance year begins in September and ends in June. Summer classes are offered the month of July.

What types of dance do you offer?

Classes are for all levels of dance for ages 3 to adult. We offer all forms of dance including ballet, tap jazz, clogging, vocal performance, hip-hop, musical theatre, lyrical, pointe’, hula and performing arts troupe. In addition we teach solos, duets, trios and small groups. We also offer adaptive dance classes for people with special needs.

What is a traditional dance class?

This is a dance class offered in many different styles (ballet, tap, jazz, clogging, etc.). A traditional class is offered once a week. If you choose to be in the annual recital in June, you will need to purchase a costume from the studio. There are optional Christmas show performances in the month of December.

What is Performing Arts Troupe?

The Performing Arts Troupe, ages 5-18, is a group that is more involved with multiple weekly rehearsals and approximately 10 performances throughout the year. If you are interested in more performance time and a higher technical level of dance this would be the group for you. The Junior and Senior Troupes are the only groups required to attend the summer trip.

What forms of payment are accepted?

The dance studio accepts cash or check for payment. We offer monthly payment plans.

We offer private lessons for all forms of dance and vocal.

What needs to be done if I need to miss a class?

If your child needs to miss a class, please call the studio. You may make-up lessons September through February. This is optional; however, there is no deduction on tuition.

When and where is the annual dance recital?

Our dance recital is in June at the Kentucky Center for the Arts.

Do you compete at competitions?

Staff will decide on all competitions for Troupe, Miracle Company, Solos, Duets, Trios and Specialty Groups. Traditional classes do not compete.

Where do you perform?

Our students perform daily at the Kentucky State Fair and entertain with many spring and Christmas programs throughout our community. The Performing Arts Troupe is very active in Kentucky as well as all over the country. Our dancers have studied and performed in New York City, Walt Disney World, Las Vegas, Myrtle Beach, Chicago, and on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. We have also performed at the Diamond Derby Celebrity Gala, the Kentucky State Fair, Louisville Tonight television show, Kings Island, Coca-Cola Talent Competition, Kentucky Derby Pegasus Parade, and the Louisville Zoo. We are the Mike Linnig’s Legends entertainers and also perform for many local organizations, nursing homes, hospitals, malls, and other events. We have performed annually on live television for over 20 years with the WHAS Crusade For Children. We have developed National Champions and professional performers since 1979.

How will I know if my child’s class is cancelled due to inclement weather?

If JCPS is closed or dismissed early, the studio’s website will be updated with class information by 2 PM that day. An update will also be available through the four local news stations (WHAS, WAVE, WLKY, FOX).

What is a Miracle Class?

This is an adaptive class for students that do not excel in a traditional program for any reason. Someone using a wheelchair, crutches, walker, a student with Downs Syndrome, visual impairments or any other special need might be interested in this class. Autistic students must be evaluated.

The Miracle Company offers lyrical, jazz, ballet, clogging, and vocal.

Students will need to purchase a costume and perform yearly at the annual recital, Crusade for Children, the Kentucky State Fair and shows by invitation.

Can I observe my child’s class?

To eliminate distractions during class, we offer observation 3 times a year. Times are posted on our calendar. Parents are not permitted to observe class in the classroom.

Can my child come for a trial class?

Yes, please contact the office to schedule a time and try an age appropriate class; however, registration is required.
